Welcome to the Autism Society of Delaware's website. Discovering that your child has autism can be an overwhelming experience. It may have come as a surprise, or you may have suspected autism and attempted to get an accurate diagnosis over a period of time. In either case, you probably have many questions.
We at ASD want you to know that you are not alone. Through our network of families across Delaware, we can connect you with other parents of children with autism. These are people who understand how you are feeling now, because they have had the same experiences. Parents can help you learn more about how to cope, how to find local resources to assist you, to share information, and to lend a friendly ear.
Parent information packets are available by request. Included in the packets are some very basic facts about autism, information about ASD and what we have to offer, basic resources in Delaware, and a copy of our newsletter that is published five times each year. We encourage parents to come to ASD meetings, that are held about 10 months of the year, and alternate between Newark and Dover. We also sponsor a support group in New Castle County, and have various social events during the year for children and families.
Please feel free to call at any
time, and we'll work to connect you with another parent or help you get
information you need during this time.
To request one, contact ASD at (302) 472-2638 or email

We will be happy to mail one to you!
