Parents are often looking for creative ways to assist their child in developing friendships.  To boost these opportunities find events that bring out the best in your child; in other words, the thing your child is interested in and can excel at.  There are some upcoming events from the New Castle County program guide.

 

Individuals of all ages and skill levels can participate in a Chess Club at the Bear Library (838-3300) every Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM.  No registration required.

 

A speaker on Organizational Skills for Home and Office will be held on Wednesday October 17 at 7:00 PM in the Bear Library.

 

Trains! Real and Model Railroading in Delmarva will be held Thursday October 25 at 6:30-8:30 PM in the Bear Library.

 

Brandywine Hundred Library has many Mad Science events for children-geared for children ages 3-6 or grades 3rd -6th (477-3410)

 

N. Wilmington Institute Library (3400 N Market) has an after school book club and open mic poetry for pre-teens and teens every Saturday (who has school on Saturday?) on 9/22, 10/6, 10/20, 11/3, 11/17 and 12/1

 

For adults 16 and over-Garfield Park Activity Center in New Castle holds informal billiards, cards and games on Saturdays 9:00 AM till noon.
