Autism Delaware’s Committees

Our Committees:

Committee	Purpose
Program Committee	Oversees statewide programs, including speaker series, social activities, parent mentoring, recreation and activities for children and families. This is an expansion of focus due to the merger, and to the need to ensure that Autism Delaware offers quality services to individuals and families across the lifespan.
Newsletter/Editorial Committee	Provides guidance for quarterly letter development, including theme, writing articles, researching information, as well as reviewing and critiquing past newsletters.
Policy & Legislative Committee	Develops and implements the policy agenda, setting new priorities on an annual basis.
Auction/Gala Committee	Plans and implements the annual auction. This includes setting and implementing annual goals, developing the budget, recruiting volunteers for various components of the auction (live, silent, checkout, program, etc.). The committee is present at and oversees the activities of the event.
Walk-Race Committee	Plans and implements the Walk-Race for Autism. This includes developing and overseeing the budget, setting fundraising goals, recruiting volunteers and developing sub-committees for various aspects of the Walk/Run. The committee is present at and oversees the activities of the day.
Adult Issues Committee	The Adult issues Committee works closely with the legislative committee on common issues and also looks at major issues impacting adults. A new goal is to review residential alternatives.
Golf Committee	Plans and implements the Drive for Autism. This includes developing and overseeing the budget, setting fundraiser goals, recruiting volunteers and developing sub-committees for various aspects of the Drive for Autism. The committee is also present at and oversees the activities of the day.
Social Committee	Working with staff, the Social Committee plans, schedules and manages most of the social activities of Autism Delaware, typical events include skating parties, the Train Ride, the Fall Festival, the holiday parties and other events during the year.
Recreation Committee	There is a new group committee to implementing Rec4All and to enhance recreational opportunities for individuals with autism and other disabilities across the lifespan.
