April 12 Walker Update
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!!
If you have any teammates that might like to volunteer in lieu of walking the course, we need:
WILMINGTON: A nurse, doctor, physician’s assistant, or EMT for the first aid tent
LEWES: Course monitors and parking assistants
Where are we supposed to park?
WILMINGTON: Before 10:00AM, come directly to Bellevue State Park and follow the signs for the Hunter Barn. After 10:00AM, please take the shuttle from Edgemoor Community Center. It will run until 1:45PM.
LEWES: Come directly to Cape Henlopen in Lewes and follow the event signs to the pavilion. If parking is full, you will be directed to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal for the Jolly Trolley shuttle.
BOTH: TELL THE GATE THAT YOU ARE WITH THE WALK FOR AUTISM
OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR ENTRY.
Can my dog come? Pets are not permitted at the Walk for the safety and convenience of participants. Only working service animals are permitted.
If registration opens at nine, what do we do until the Walk starts?
There will be crafts, games, and exhibitors throughout the day. After each Walk, the food and music get started!
April 2 Walker Update
I signed up my Team to Walk on Autism Delaware’s site. Why isn’t it showing up on Firstgiving?
Autism Delaware and Firstgiving use separate systems. Signing up on Autism Delaware’s page (Captains or non-Team Walkers only!) lets us know who will walk where and how to contact them; signing up on Firstgiving is for anyone wanting to receive online donations and can be done by any team member.
I requested one envelope for my team. Why did you ask to send me more?
Each Walker raising funds should hand in their own envelope at registration to earn shirts and prizes. If one envelope is used, only one shirt or prize will be awarded, regardless of how many people did the fundraising.
Will all Walkers get a T-shirt?
Only Walkers who raise $25 or more will earn a shirt.
March 6 Walker Update
Who should checks be made out to?
Please ask your donors to write their checks to AUTISM DELAWARE.
If I signed up my Team, do my teammates have to sign up too?
Nope! The only people who should sign up are Captains and people who are walking without a Team. If you are unsure, we consider a Team to be any group of two people or more.
