Federal Issues
FEDERAL SPENDING
Autism Delaware opposes any spending plan that would harm services for people with disabilities and their families. This includes cuts to and block granting Medicaid, arbitrary spending caps, and balanced budget requirements that would prevent the federal government from responding to increases in service needs. Cutting services from some of our most vulnerable citizens is not fiscal or moral responsibility.
COMBATING AUTISM REAUTHORIZATION ACT (CARA)
CARA will continue the funding and coordination of research into both treatment and support services that began in 2006 and has already yielded new screening protocols and other promising advances. Visit Autism Speaks' Action Center on CARA. CARA must pass by September 30, 2011!
